Born in Rio de Janeiro but raised between Miami and New York City, Marina is the eponymous founder of Marina Fragoso Fine Jewelry. Always prioritizing Value and Versatility, creating timeless pieces for her discerning clientele. Drawn to both big city living and to the ethereal beauty of nature,
Marina expresses herself creatively across multiple mediums, first as a photographer for 13 years and now as a designer and gem hunter. Her passion for jewelry didn’t start as a career but a connection that began deep in her roots.
Since she was a little girl, Marina has been infatuated by gemstones and jewelry.
Marina’s grandfather was a mining engineer, and would travel to remote destinations for work. After each trip he would return with gemstones for her grandmother and they would work together with a goldsmith to design pieces for her grandmother’s collection.
Marina would visit their home in Rio de Janeiro during her summer holidays. While most kids her age would be on the beach, Marina would beg her grandmother to show her jewelry, and they would spend long afternoons perusing through the pieces. Her grandmother would recount the story of each jewel, the origin of the gem and the occasion for which she had received each precious gift.Each Jewel has a story, each treasure reminding you of your history, and how much love you have been privileged to experience. This was the beginning of a romance, every summer, year on year, Marina fell in love with the jewels and their stories. That’s why she believes that everyone deserves to own a piece of fine jewelry that they treasure for a lifetime.
